Vase of Moss
Glass and preserved moss. 5×10″
Having studied moss art for two years now, Faith Williams grounds craft in community by introducing her works in local galleries and workshops. Seeing moss as a shifting medium, the piece not only acts as a household object but when placed in a garden, is contextualized into a possible habitat. Using moss as her primary canvas, Williams calls to the connection between everyday objects and the earth. As moss finds areas to grow in nature, Williams finds things (thrifted, recycled, found) to “moss,” integrating the natural world into everyday spaces.
